• New Smyrna Beach Roots – Long-time visitor for nearly 40 years; full-time resident for the past 5 years. Proud to finally call this vibrant, creative, charming town my permanent home.                                                       

• Family – Married 34 years to Jeff and proud mom of Paige (BSN, RN-BC, CNOR), Parker (Geospatial Software Engineer), and Preston “Jack” (Manager, Software Sales) 

• Attorney (JD) licensed in California and Wisconsin.  Experience in family, property, contract, and immigration law.  

• U.S. Army Captain, Gulf War Veteran

• Congressional Intern, U.S. Senator John McCain (while in college)

• ROTC Scholarship recipient, Arizona State University – earned B.S., Political Science

• Federal Service – Department of Homeland Security, Asylum Officer (Top Secret clearance); also provided pro bono legal assistance to undocumented minors through Kids in Need of Defense (KIND)

• State Government Service –  Santa Clara County (Silicon Valley) Department of Children & Family Services; advocate and court-appointed guardian

• Municipal & School Governance – Board Secretary and Member Service Manager, Texas Political Subdivisions, a risk pool serving municipalities, counties, and school districts

• Private Sector Leadership – Human Resources Manager at Nokia (policy, compliance, training, compensation & benefits) and Aon (global professional services company specializing in risk management & insurance)

• Postgraduate Education – Master of Business Administration (MBA), with emphasis in Human Resources Management

• Educator – Substitute teacher for seven years in Texas and California

• Community Service – Past volunteer with Altrusa International, YWCA, Meals on Wheels, Christmas is for Children, Junior League of South Brevard, The Cloisters HOA Board, Boy Scouts, Brownies, Palo Alto High School Debate Team, and numerous youth sports teams

• Mentor & Advocate – Volunteer College Admissions Counselor and Career Coach at Palo Alto High School; Program Leader for the  American Club of São Paulo, Brazil

• Current Local Service – Volunteer at Cudas Unhooked, Smyrna Museum of History, Atlantic Center for the Arts, and the Images Art Festival
